Once upon a time a hardy breed of men and women rode the American West; with sixguns, rifles, and shotguns as tools of self preservation or depradation. It was a wild untamed land, and it called for special people to survive and thrive in it. They lived, and fought, and passed on to us a rich heritage.
For many years that spirit was idealized and kept alive by the Hollywood Western Movie, and then by the early Television cowboy heroes.
Today, the spirit of the Old West is alive and well once again. But this time the outlaws go "clang" when hit, and live to fight
another day...
Now, "the keepers of the flame" are the men and women of the Single Action Shooting Society, Western Action Shootists Association, National Congress of Old West Shootists, Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association, and the other organizations and unaffiliated shooters world-wide that make up...
